After-School

After-school programming will be available for children ages 7 through high school. There will be a normal release and an extended offering, the latter of which going until 8pm.

The programming will be heavily structured, particularly for the younger ages. It  will center around the core tenets of Literacy, Health & Wellness, and Community Engagement. It is critical that our kids can articulate themselves and as they navigate the world around them. For our younger children, participation in a physical extracurricular each quarter will be mandatory. Whether that be one of our sports leagues, dance, or PE.

All after-school programming will be free so that no child is precluded based on finances outside their control. However, participation for each child is a privilege and they will be held accountable as such. In addition to an honor code, every child by age will have a rotating set of responsibilities each day to assist staff and their peers. They will also participate in recurring events where community service is provided to others in need.

Admission into the after-school program will be designed to serve those in highest need first. This will be at the sole discretion of the Rising Tide Center.

Weekends & Summers

Our work mentoring youth doesn't stop when the school year ends. Often, that is when it's needed the most.

While still structured, summer programming will lean towards open play where the kids have more say over what the day's activities entail. The same core tenets will remain as will the daily responsibilities helping staff and their peers. Summers will also be a time where children behind in school can receive extra attention to catch up, while still remaining in a fun and engaging environment with their friends.

On weekends, the majority of our facilities will be devoted to our various sports leagues. Due to our health & wellness requirement, almost all our kids will be participating in one of these sports year-round. For the few children who are not (dance or PE), additional weekend activity options will be made available.

Our Center is designed as the place kids want to be on the weekends. Youth Center meets Dave & Busters. When you foster a fun environment where kids want to be, it's much easier to hold them accountable. When you walk through our facility and meet the team we've built, you'll understand what we mean.

YOUTH & ADULT

Sports & Recreation

A combination of indoor and outdoor sports facilities have been built to provide free and accessible sports to the Beloit community. These include two outdoor basketball courts, two indoor courts, two turf "five-a-side" soccer pitches, two beach volleyball courts, regulation size turf flag football field, and 12,000sf obstacle course.

Rising Tide Athletics will be funding, running, and operating its own internal youth sports leagues in these facilities beginning the Spring 2024 season. These leagues will be free with all required equipment provided to any kids who need it. All leagues will be under the same Rising Tide Athletics umbrella. Once a child is signed up for one league, nothing further is required for them to participate in additional leagues.

In the late evenings when the facilities aren't being used for youth, they will be made available for adult rec leagues. These too will be run internally by the Rising Tide.

Bingo, Pickleball, and More

Senior Activities

Currently, there is the same lack of free and accessible activities in the community for seniors as there are for kids. We're doing our part to solve both problems.

Senior-only Bingo. It will be weekly, entry will be FREE, and there will be prizes. Space will be limited with priority going to those seniors who volunteer at the Center. Any spots remaining will be first-come first-serve.

Two rooms on the first floor have been made a dedicated senior lounge where our seniors are welcome to come hangout anytime they want. Free coffee, snacks, and food. Don't worry, we'll make sure you're able to work it off too.

We have two dance studios with brand-new sprung wood floors that are easy on the joints. In these we'll be offering free senior yoga, dance, and fitness classes.

And of course, we have pickle-ball. Both leagues and open play will be available for seniors during the day when our gyms aren't in use. League championship games each year will will be played in our McNeil Arena in front of a full, rabid crowd of our after-school kids. Like everything else, pickleball will be free.

For anyone in a wheelchair, our entire building is ADA accessible and we have an elevator.

Supporting Our Local Teachers

It truly takes a village to raise a child. And nowhere in our society is more asked of and less given than from our teachers. We're here to say "thank you" and offer you a helping hand however we can.

GIVE OUR TEACHERS

A VOICE

With our own funding and our youth programming being free, we are not accountable to a central office and endless red tape. Nor are our hands tied with holding bad behavior accountable. If you are an educator looking for your voice to be heard and ideas implemented, we are here to give you that opportunity.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

for teachers

We know the laughable allowance you are given for school supplies each year. You are already far underpaid for the work you do and what you have to deal with on a daily basis. We'll get you whatever supplies you need. We have a lot already on hand and can easily get more.
